2 Things You May Have Missed From Tesla Master Plan Part 3
The Tesla Team, April 15, 2023
April 15, 2023 — PALO ALTO, CA On March 1, 2023, Tesla announced its Master Plan Part 3 and published its print version one month later. The 41-page white paper details how Tesla proposes to reshape its energy collection, storage and distribution. Introducing the latest research models on the U.S. electricity grid, Tesla identifies which energy sectors are scalable for renewable energy implementation, such as automotives and residential heating and cooling.
Among the many topics covered in the Master Plan Part 3, here are two exciting things you may have missed:
1. Sustainable Methods to Produce Steel
One prevailing concern raised by traditional automakers is Tesla’s use of stainless steel in the upcoming Cybertruck’s frame. The public recalls a short-lived DMC DeLorean constructed with stainless steel body panels from the early 1980s. However, Tesla developed a long-term plan to not only produce steel in a sustainable way, but also integrate these sustainable materials into its EV models.
2. Alternative Fuel in Planes and Boats
Increased research and testing will help Tesla create new ways to power aircrafts and boats using both electricity and electricity-generated synthetic fuel sources. Tesla is well on its way to unlocking the mysteries of fuel and energy consumption.
Tesla’s Senior Vice President Andrew Baglino noted, “Although Tesla is most famous for its EV models, a major part of Tesla’s portfolio actually focuses on energy and sustainability initiatives.”
Most of Master Plan 3 contains scientific research methods aimed to inform non-Tesla scientists and the entrepreneurial community. By publishing this white paper, Tesla hopes to encourage open dialogue and solicit additional feedback from experts.
